As a member of the Hansons Olympic Development Organization you will play vital role in continuing the efforts of Keith and Kevin Hanson in developing the growth and success in America's elite distance runners. Running is one of the most popular sports world wide. This is largely due to the fact that it can be done by anyone, anywhere, anytime.

When Joe Runner finishes a local 5K race and sets a new personal record of 24:23, the sense of accomplishment he can feel from that is universal. It is the same feeling James Jurcevich felt when he set a new personal record of 28:39 while placing 6th at the US Olympic Trials. It is the goal of the Hanson Olympic Development Organization to get American distance runners to succeed on the world scene, setting new American "PR's". Hansons Olympic Development Program is the best means to accomplish this goal. In the fall of 2000, the first step was taken with Clint Verran's 17th place at the World Half Marathon Championships - the highest finish ever by an American distance runner.

The cost of accomplishing our goal is simple. It is the cost of living for our elite distance runners, providing them with the opportunity to intensify their training beyond college. Funds are also needed for travel to meets around the country to prepare and qualify members of Hanson Olympic Development Program for world competition. Keith and Kevin Hanson have done their best in this regard by providing the members free housing, travel, coaching and part time jobs in the Hanson Running Shops. However, as the program grows, this is becoming more challenging. Your support is needed.

Our athletes have the desire and the capability to succeed on the world scene, if they are given the opportunity to focus on their training beyond their college years.
