It seemed like we picked up the pace quiet a bit in Bloomer but then slowed it down on the way back. I'm definitely glad I took yesterday off because my leg felt a lot better than it did on Thursday's run.

I was pretty disappointed in my performance but other than that the race was a lot of fun. The best part was getting beenie babies at the end of the race.

I was a little disappointed that I couldn't keep up with all of the other girls but I was most concerned about actually finishing the run without falling apart. The gatorade we had seemed to upset my stomach a bit but other than that and an early bathroom stop I felt pretty good.

I sucked it up big time. I'm actually looking forward to our next workout so I can make sure I hit all of my splits.

I liked this loop and I felt a lot better than I did on our last long run. I also learned that I really don't like triberry gu.

08/26/2006  10  1:02:46.00  Tempo Run   Crim 10miler (I would have put it under competition but I can never seem to enter it in properly). I was pretty disappointed by my performance especially because I ran almost 3mins slower than I did last year, but for my present level of fitness I guess I wasn't surprised. I felt pretty good until mile 7 when I hit a bit of a wall for the next mile and a half or so. I think it's definitely good practice for what I'm going to experience in the marathon, but hopefully things will go a lot better for me in Chicago. I guess I've still got a couple of months to get ready.

I had a bit of pain in my stress fracture spot so I'm going to make sure to keep an eye on it for the rest of the day. I don't want to rush into a workout on Monday if there's a chance that i could re-injure myself.

08/31/2006  11  1:12:03.00  Aerobic Capacity Intervals   3x3miles @6:12pace w/1mile recovery: 18:19, 18:13, 18:16. I finally felt in control for a workout. The second interval in particular felt great. It was nice to just settle into a pace and just cruise. The third interval was definitely the closest to pace. We were right on for the 1st 2 miles but were pretty fast on the 3rd one. I'm sure the fact that we were running into the wind and up the hilly mile slowed us down a bit too.

Then we headed out of the park onto Macomb orchard/clinton river trail back to the girls house. My stomach was not thrilled with today's run. I think it's still going to take me a little more time to be able to take sports drinks while running without having stomach problems.

We always seemed to be fast on the first half mile but then we'd settle into pace. When I did hit pace it felt pretty comfortable. But the real problem today was that my stress fracture spot was pretty sore. I didn't really notice it during the workout but it was bugging me on the warmup and cooldown.

We then ran the Gunn loop and I added on a little bit more on Paint at the end. I felt pretty tired today. I'd definitely appreciate a good nap but I don't think that's going to happen today.

We got a little confused about the loop so we ended up going a couple of miles longer than we had planned. My stomach was a problem again and I had to take a few bathroom stops. All and all I was pretty pleased by how the run went.

I felt pretty crappy for the first 8miles or so (women problems)but after a bathroom stop on Gunn I caught back up with Dot and Yolanda and finished up the run with them feeling pretty good.
